I love music in general, and I’m currently in my fourth year of singing lessons. I extremely enjoy exercising. I love American Football and adore watching my favourite team the Pittsburgh Steelers play. Eating healthy is something very important to me; therefore, I highly aspire in becoming a nutritionist and studying at the University Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

Greetings delegates, and welcome to the 13th Annual Cancun Model United Nations! My name is Lorenzo Cámara, and I’ll be your Co-Chair in this year’s General Assembly. I’m a student here at IAS, currently in 11th grade. When I’m not in school I enjoy hanging out with friends, listening to music and watching Youtube videos until I can’t remember what year it is . On a more intellectual note, I’m fascinated by the study of history, geography and politics. After graduating from high school I’d like to study law; the problem is I still have no idea where, but eventually I’ll figure it out. My favourite book is Sycamore Row by John Grisham, and my favourite movie is the gory masterpiece by Quentin Tarantino, Kill Bill.

My name is Sebastian Doblado, I'm in my senior year and I consider myself to be great at my intrapersonal skills. I seek excellence in the delegates attending to the committee, as I will not take your performance for granted. I like to take long walks on the beach and watch the sunset while I think about how blessed I am to have the life that I have. As a delegate participating in this committee, you are expected to research the information on your country as well as information related to the topics presented in the committee. My name is Andres Albahari and I am currently a junior in IAS, your chair and I are looking for excellence and passion to all delegates participating in the Security Council. I enjoy playing sports, such as football and soccer. I also have a passion for movies. This would be my third MUN conference that I have attended. I have also been to PASMUN in Puebla which was a great experience to learn and enjoy MUN conferences. I think of myself as a leader and a motivational person who always expects the best effort from everyone. I have gained these skills from being in Student Council twice and from all my years as a football player. This is my first time being involved in Security Council and I will put my best effort in making this an unforgettable experience for everyone.
Let me introduce myself, my name is Armando Llanes and I have the honor to be your Chair in this conference. I am currently attending at International American School of Cancun and I'm in my first semester of my senior year. I enjoy learning about the political and international matters because of its importance in daily life and to the future. I plan to attend law school in Mexico city at Universidad Panamericana, and then do masters in politics and international affairs; my main goal in life is to be representing Mexico in the UN, and speak for my country and its people. In my free time I love to sing, act, dance, read, travel, and spend time with friends.
Hello delegates, I am Carla Saborio and I will be your co-chair in this 13th conference of CancunMUN 2016. I am a senior at IAS, I’m not really sure what I want to study or where, but I'm between studying law at Universidad Panamericana, or art at UNAM or in Europe. I remember my first conference as a delegate, at the beginning it’s a little difficult and you will probably get nervous and anxious to share your proposals, even if it’s not your first conference. I am very excited to be a part of this conference and to guide you through the debate so you can unfold quickly and use your expertise the best you can.
Welcome to CancunMUN 2016! We are pleased to introduce you to our committee. My name is Camila Camarena and I will be your chair for the ECOSOC committee. I am currently a senior at the International American School of Cancun. This is my 5th model UN conference. I love to learn and I am looking forward to learn from you! When I am not studying I like to paint, do exercise and go out with my friends. I would like to study architecture in Puebla, Mexico. The topics of ECOSOC this year are really interesting and we chose them because it focuses on important and valuable problems in the world that need to be solved and discussed. This year’s conference will be great with your participation, we can make ECOSOC a fun, entertaining and pleasing committee together! Welcome delegates to this year’s Cancun MUN, to the Economic and Social Council. My name is Miranda Fernandez and I am honored to have the privilege of being your co-chair this year. When I’m not in school I enjoy playing tennis, piano, painting and going to aerial modern dance classes. I have not yet decided where I will be going to college or what I am going to study, but I am interested in various subjects such as literature, hospitality, gastronomy and humanitarianism. I am currently a senior at the International American School of Cancun. I’ve been in IAS all through middle and high school and have been involved in five Model United Nations conferences so far.
I am very excited to be your chair this year, My name is Morgan Mount, and I am happy to formally welcome you to the CancunMUN Conference of 2016. I have never been a chair before, but I am super excited to have the position this year. Currently, I am a senior at IAS, and I have been attending this school since the fourth grade. I absolutely love MUN, and I love to watch how other people debate and come up with solutions. The funny thing is that I plan to be a physical therapist for amputees and a teacher for children with disabilities. I would love to go to Africa after I graduate from college and to be with the people and help however I can. Other than MUN, I love to read, play soccer, listen to music, exercise, and hang out with my friends.

My name is Aimee Ordaz, and I’m excited to be your Co-Chair for The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, along my Chair and dear friend, Morgan Mount. This is my first time as a moderator, and I can’t wait to see you debate. I’m currently a senior at IAS. Although MUN is one of the biggest passions in my life, I actually plan on studying Equestrian Studies and getting a masters degree in equestrian veterinarian or horse training. After college, I plan on making a journey all over Mexico visiting all the indigenous pueblos and native Hispanic cultural sites. During my free time I enjoy reading, watching several series, working out, painting and horse jumping.
Welcome delegates, my name is Eugenio Castro and I will be your chair this year. First of all, allow me to introduce myself. Currently, I am a senior at the International American School of Cancun applying to university and hoping to hear back from them soon. While I am not busy sleeping or watching Netflix I enjoy going to the gym, especially with my co-chair.
I am a National Honors Society member and I have participated in three Model United Nations conferences. I attended the NAIMUN conference earlier this year and two Cancun MUN conferences in the past. I have learned many things participating in these conferences. I have had some great and some not very great chairs, so I know what makes a good chair and hopefully, I will embody the qualities you are looking for. We have put in a great deal of work into preparing this committee for you, so we hope you will enjoy it and have a challenging yet fun experience with us.
My name is Carlos Gonzalez Loyola, I'm cursing through my last year of High School and I’ll be your co-chair this year at the DISEC committee. I’ll do my best to give you the greatest conference of your entire life, take that for granted. I consider myself to be a very active person, due to the fact that I love sports. I like playing soccer, football... but my favourite activity is going to the gym with my chair. Now let’s talk a little bit about my personal MUN experience. I have attended two ULSA MUN conferences and two Cancun MUN conferences. I really enjoyed participating in these conferences as a delegate, but this year I wanted to try something new, I wanted to challenge myself, I wanted to get more involved in the conference as a whole. This is my first year as a co-chair and I´m really excited. Actually,I prepared myself for this conference for an entire year. However, the real question is, are you also prepared? I want this conference to be awesome that is why I need the best effort from each delegate; I expect my delegates to be well prepared, so the debate will be based on detailed and accurate statements.
Welcome to CancunMUN 2016. My name is Patricio Muñoz, and I’m pleased to be your chair, along with my friend and co-chair, Nancy Alpuing, for this year’s United Nations Environmental Programme. I have been involved in Model UN since tenth grade here at the International American School. Thanks to these moments, I have gained new leadership experiences and new opportunities to get to know people who have the same interests as me. I started as a delegate in the United Nations Development Programme in tenth grade and followed up by last year’s conference, where I was a delegate in the International Telecommunications Unit. I am 18 years old and I am currently a senior at the International American School of Cancun. After graduating I’m planning to study civil engineering in a foreign country; some of my options are the UT or A&M in Texas. Some of my passions are listening to music (all genres) and spending time with friends and family, but what I like most is to travel, getting to know new places & their culture.

I am currently a senior at the International American School of Cancún. During my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, as well as watching movies, travelling, painting and drawing, or anything that involves creativity. My current plans for the future are applying to Universidad CENTRO in Mexico, D.F. and Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia, to study fashion design.
Hello Distinguished Delegates! Welcome to IAS Cancun MUN 2016, my name is Melissa Picón and I’m excited to be your Chair for this year’s conference. I’ll be chairing with my fellow Co-Chair, Roberta Estrada. We will both try to make UNDP the best committee. I’m a senior this year at IAS and I’ve been involved in MUN since 7th grade as a delegate and I joined Secretariat in 10th grade. I like to dance ballet and paint during my free time. This year I’m applying to 3 universities in Canada to attend to medicine school, I would like to be a general surgeon. First I want to take a year off and travel the world with my friends and study another language, maybe Italian.
Hello, Delegates! My name is Roberta Estrada and I’m going to be your co-chair this year. I’m so excited to be having you all in this annual conference of Cancun MUN 2016. I will be chairing with the help of my fellow chair Mercedes Ramirez the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). I’m currently a Junior here at IAS and I have been here since seventh grade. During my free time, I like to watch Netflix, chat with my friends, scroll up and down on Instagram and I really like to sleep. I love to dance and cook, especially with my friends. I’m excited about the future and hopefully, after I graduate I would be able to study International Relations in Monterrey. But first, I would like to travel and be a volunteer in Africa helping the United Nations during six months before actually going into college. The future seems scary but I’m excited to find out about it.
Welcome Delegates to this year’s Cancun MUN! My name is Alejandro Almeida, and I’m excited to be directing this year’s United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Committee, along with my Co-Chair and best friend Ana Paula Rojas. I’m 18 years old and this is my last year here in the International American School of Cancun. I’ve been studying here for four years now and it has been a wonderful time. I lived in Boca Raton, the USA for one year in an amazing school called Saint Andrews. As well, 2 years of my life I was living in Paris, France. They were great experiences in which I learnt a lot. I speak fluent English, French and Spanish. I love to travel and learn from different cultures. I went one month to Venice, Italy and another month to Hamburg, Germany specifically to learn the languages. My plans after graduating High-School would include studying Business Management, along with masters in Law. I look forward to being in university, but meanwhile, I will continue to enjoy the pleasures that Cancun has to offer.
Ana Paula Rojas
My name is Ana Paula Rojas Monjarás I'm currently a Senior here at (International American School) I.A.S. I´m glad of being part of secretariat this year, and I'm excited to be modelling this UNODC committee. This is my 6th year at I.A.S, and I loved MUN since my first year. These have been amazing moments as such learning experiences.
I have many passions in life, but my great passion is sailing, I have participated in the national (Mexican) circuit. And in the past months, I participated in the Laser World championship. I was a pleasure for me to represent my country. My other greater passion is to travel, I have travelled all around the world. Further on I´m willing to know more different cultures such as places and traditions in the world. For me the time with my friends is the most valuable thing in life, nonetheless, the family is always appreciated, and being with them is one of my priorities in life.
Welcome to the 13th annual Cancun MUN conference! My name is Astrid Ordaz and this year I have the pleasure to be your chair in the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund committee. I’m currently a Junior at the International American School of Cancun. Since my first model UN experience, I fell in love with the conference and the adrenaline of debating. When I graduate from high school I’m planning to take a year off to help Mexican communities, especially the children who live in developing urban areas. I plan to study in California economics and finances. When I’m not at school I love spending time with my friends drinking coffee and watching movies. I enjoy travelling to my hometown Oaxaca and discovering new cultures. I love taking naps, reading, going to the gym, and dance.
Welcome to the 13th annual Cancun Model United Nations conference! My name is Maguire Mount, and I will be your co-chair for the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF). I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to work with each and every one of you and hope, that you are as excited as I am to begin debating. As a junior in high school, I have been to five different conferences internationally. I am honored to be a chair for such an amazing committee like UNICEF and plan to make this the best committee. I adore Model United Nations and plan on studying international relations, and hopefully getting a job in the UN. I also love cooking and hope, to someday minor in the culinary arts.
