Welcome, Delegates!

My name is Giselle Posada. I am 18 years old, and a senior at the International American School of Cancun. For this year’s conference I have the honor of being Chair in the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), alongside my Co-Chair, Dana Ríos.  In my free time,  I enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies, exercising, listening to music, spending time with my family and friends, and so much more. After high school, I plan on attending university in Europe or Asia.

CancunMun has been a passion of mine ever since my first conference as a delegate. This will be my third Model United Nations conference. All my experiences have taught me something and inspired me to aim for excellence and to give you the best experience possible. As your Chair, I expect my delegates to participate fully and with the utmost amount of respect, enthusiasm, open-mindedness, and perseverance. Every delegate should come prepared to debate with an open mind.  It is crucial that you don't rely just on the information provided by the background guide, but that you also look up outside sources of information. During the conference, I expect nothing more than an outstanding performance from every delegate at all times.

You can contact the secretariat team at or feel free to contact me personally at if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to seeing you in November!

Best of luck, Delegates!

Greetings Delegates,

I am honored to welcome you to the 16th annual CancunMUN conference. This year, it is my privilege to be your Co-chair in the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP). My name is Dana Ríos, I am 18 years old and currently a Senior at the International American School of Cancun. My Chair and dear friend Giselle Posada, as well as myself, are eager to work with you and be part of this wonderful committee.

During my free time I enjoy practicing yoga, hanging out with my friends and family, playing soccer, and traveling. I also love languages and have a huge passion for connecting with the earth and everything related to its conservation, so I am planning to pursue a career in Earth and Environmental Sciences.

This is the second CancunMUN conference I will be attending, and I’m immensely looking forward to it, since being a part of CancunMUN or any MUN conference gives you the opportunity to take a role in finding solutions to make a positive impact in the world we live in.

All delegates are expected to come highly prepared, not only relying on the provided background guide; since more good, reliable information present during the debate will ensure a nice flow and a larger opportunity for the delegates to enjoy professional discussions. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me at, or to talk directly to the Secretariat team.

Best of luck delegates, and see you in November!
