Welcome, Delegates,

Hi, my name is Carola Romero, and I have the honor of being your chair for the General Assembly in the 17th CancunMUN conference. I am 17 years old and a senior at the International American School of Cancun. I love going to the beach and hanging out with my friends as well as doing yoga. I also like learning languages and being with my family. When I finish high school, I would like to go help build houses in places of need. I am still figuring out what I want to study in university, but I know it is going to be a science.

This CancunMUN will be my 4th MUN conference. In past years I have participated as a delegate of GA and UNHRC as well as participating in NHSMUN. Being a chair of GA is such a great opportunity to run a relevant and important committee, and to push myself further in order to give you the best experience.

I expect delegates to be well prepared and organized as well as confident. I expect them to push to be their best and stay true to their countries policy. Remember that talking the most does not mean that a delegate will win an award; delegates must be giving proper information and good points from reliable sources. I encourage delegates to contribute with their ideas and to have a good time while remaining professional.

Please, don’t be afraid to contact me personally if you have any doubts at  or any of the Secretariat personnel and we will be more than happy to help you.

Greetings, Delegates!

Welcome to the 17th annual CancunMUN conference. My name is Sofia Cardenas, and this year it will be my honor to be your Co-Chair of the General Assembly (GA) committee. I am 17 years old and a senior at International American School of Cancun. I am very excited for this year’s conference. This will be my fourth CancunMUN conference. I love spending time with my friends, listening to music, watching movies and dancing. When I graduate I would like to focus on my dance and study psychology.

As your Co-Chair I expect my delegates to be respectful with each other, focus on the debate, participate and behave the best they can. I hope you have an unforgettable experience at CancunMUN and most importantly, that you have fun! If you have any questions or concerns, don’t forget to contact me personally at
