UNITED NATIONS OFFICE ON DRUGS AND CRIME
My name is Valeria Mier, and I couldn’t be more excited to be your Chair in the committee of the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in CancunMun 2020. I’m 16 years old, and I am a junior at the International American School of Cancun (IAS). In my free time I like to be with my friends, go to the beach, travel and go to parties. After I graduate, I want to travel all around the world, and I would like to study criminal psychology or criminal law and live in Madrid with my friends.
This will be my 4th MUN conference. In past years I have been a delegate in the committees of UNHRC and UNICEF in CancunMun 2018 and 2019, and IFAD in NHSMUN 2020, in New York. I chose UNODC because I have always been interested in the topics discussed in this committee. I am glad that this year I will have the opportunity to work with my best friend, Danniella Posada, and together we will make this committee the best of all.
I expect my delegates to be prepared, confident and professional. As a reminder, your background guides are not your only source of information and do not forget to always use reliable sources.
You may contact me at or any member of the Secretariat at I am looking forward to see you all next year.
Hello and Welcome, Delegates,
My name is Danniella Posada, and I am more than happy to announce that I will be your Co-Chair of the United Nations Office and Crime Committee (UNODC) in CancunMUN 2020. I am currently 17 years old, and a junior at the International American School of Cancun (IAS).
In my free time I enjoy listening to music, doing exercise, and hanging out with my friends and family at all times. After I graduate, it would be a dream come true to study filmmaking and to become one of the greatest film directors in the industry. I have always loved to make videos, movies and scripts for projects. I fancy living in Madrid, Spain, someday with the best of my friends.
This will be my third MUN conference. I have as a delegate in UNICEF and UNODC, and this year, I have the great honor to be your Co-Chair of one of my favourite committees. I hope you enjoy this experience, and that you are as excited as I am.
